Daimler and IntertonOne rely on iBrams for brand communication

Initial Situation
With its Mercedes-Benz Cars, Daimler Trucks, Daimler Financial Services as well as Mercedes-Benz Vans and Daimler Buses, Daimler AG is a leading international provider of premium passenger cars and the largest manufacturer of utility vehicles. The company actively markets its products in nearly all of the countries of the world and has production plants on five continents. To date, local solutions are used for the creation and order of standard printed matter for different brands and markets.

The solution
To optimize the media manufacturing process and to design it more efficiently, Daimler AG decided on the introduction of a web-based, centralized solution for the production of communication and advertising materials within the scope of a long-term strategy. The Corporate Facility Management - Media & Data Management department of  Daimler AG developed a versatile catalog of requirements that included criteria for the handling, production and mode of operation of the new solution.

After testing the concepts and bids of several contractors who introduced different solutions, the agency for design communication, IntertonOne, with the web-based brand management solution, iBrams, was chosen. As a comprehensive solution, it fulfilled the high expectations of Daimler AG the best. Daimler employees can individualize layout documents via the system, which always corresponds automatically to the current corporate design specifications of the company. The new electronic publishing and ordering system implemented at Daimler ePOS is based on iBrams as well as on modules developed by IntertonOne, which provide supplementary support possibilities for the end user. In combining both platforms, an integral solution was created, which covers the entire spectrum of corporate publishing design possibilities.

Sucess Story

„iBrams automatically complies with our appearance. We promise that the solution also provides synergetic effects and the perceptible simplification of coordination and release processes“, says Jürgen Kuna, Director of e-Process Media in the Corporate Facility Management - Media & Data Management Department of Daimler AG.

In a test phase, Daimler employees were able to create flyers, posters and other marketing materials flexibly and timely for campaigns with iBrams within the scope of three pilot projects and to adapt to local needs within the scope of the design specifications currently in effect in the company. In this way, set expectations were fulfilled: „So far we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback“, says Kuna.
   
Little by little, the system should be expanded to other departments. „It is our long-term vision to expand the platform to as many Daimler AG areas as possible and to adapt it to the needs of each brand communication“, says Anton Tontchev, Director of the Project Office of IntertonOne in Germany. In addition to cost reduction in print data preparation as well as appropriate preparation of images and texts, the platform can also be used internationally in all locations. Connection of the company translation software to ePOS is also intended. In this way, a flyer in the German language can be quickly issued in another language.
